THE OGBANJE

OVER BLACK: The SOUND of gentle RAIN against a window.

FADE IN:

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

The window curtains ruffle softly as the night breeze swiftly make its way in. FLASHES of LIGHTNING reveal a dimly lit room. Near the window is a crib, across from it a couple sleep.

The night stand clock reads 2:59AM then change to 3:00AM. Moments later the WINDOW CURTAINS ruffle uncontrollably as WIND come gushing in.

We hear a BABY begin to CRY. There's movement in the bed.

CHRISTINA, mid - late 20s, average height and built, wearing a head wrap, boy-short, and tank-top. She SQUINT in the direction of the clock trying to make out the time.

FROM HER POINT OF VIEW: The time appear blurry then slowly goes into focus. It's 3:05 AM.

The WINDOW CURTAINS subdue.

Christina reach for Wally and try to calm him down.

CHRISTINA

Shhhhh... it's okay hun, mommy here, it's okay. It's just a little storm.

Christina continue, in all her efforts Wally cries grows louder.

CHRISTINA

Shhhhh... it's okay hunny, nothing to be afraid of sweetie.

With her back turn, a SHADOW FIGURE pass by.

We hear a man voice.

2.

MAN (O.S.)

Did you check his diaper?

Christina turn towards the direction of the voice.

CHRISTINA

It's fine.

MAN (O.S.)

He's probably hungry.

CHRISTINA

He can't be hungry, I fed him prior to bed. He's been waking up in the middle of the night lately.

WATKINS, mid to late 20s, wearing a tank-top, he sit up, look in the direction of the counter for the time. It's "3:10 AM". He reach for the lamp, turn it on, and walk over to Christina.

WATKINS

Did you check his diaper?

CHRISTINA

Yes Watkins, I've checked.

WATKINS

You seem a bit tense. Here,

(reaching for Wally)

let me take him so you can rest.

Christina give Watkins a look before handing Wally over.

WATKINS CONT'D

Watkins start pacing back and forth, singing trying to comfort Wally.

Christina standoffish with her hands cross.

WATKINS CONT'D

(singing softly)

Hush little Wally don't you cry, daddy going to make everything alright.

Watkins continue to hum.

3.

Christina notice the curtains and walk over to the window.

WATKINS (O.S)

Wally stop crying.

Christina pull the curtains back and look out the window.

Watkins put Wally in the crib gently and give him a kiss. He approach Christina and give her a pop kiss.

WATKINS

4.

Watkins motion over to Christina and start to rub her shoulders.

WATKINS CONT'D

(massaging her neck and shoulder)

but they can still feel what their mothers are feeling. It helps if you relax a little.

CHRISTINA

(moaning softly)

That feels good babe.

Watkins lean in closer and starts kissing Christina neck.

WATKINS

(whispering)

You know what else feels good right?

CHRISTINA

(smiling)

I don't know, why don't you tell me.

Watkins whisper in her ear.

CHRISTINA

(smiling)

Boy go to bed okay. If you hadn't left that window open you probably would be getting some in the morning.

WATKINS

Ahh man, come on Christie.

CHRISTINA

I'm tired babe, I promise we can try tomorrow night.

Watkins stop massaging Christina.

WATKINS

Yeah, only if Wally give us a chance.

Christina turn around and romantically push Watkins on the bed and climb on top of him.

5.

CHRISTINA

I promise to put him to bed early.

WATKINS
