Trained in theater arts in the esteemed Fine Arts program at Alabama State University, under the direction of the award winning Dr. Tommie Stewart, William D. Delaney has played roles from Shakespeare to August Wilson, as well as many other noteworthy stage plays.
Having the lead and being casted in roles for extremely popular stage plays where competition was aggressive, William has played the role as Walter Lee in the "Raisin in the Sun", Paul in "Six Degrees of Separation", which was the only African American Role, and Othello in the famous Shakespeare play "Othello". William's credits extend far beyond the ones previously mentioned, he starred as Execute in “A Solider Play”, Brother Will coincidently in “Sing a Song”, Beck in "Jitney", Milton Edwards in "First Breeze of Summer", Joshua Noun in "Thunder in the Index", Chris in "Time Won’t Give Time", Shambah in "The Naming", Wendell in "Before it Hits Home", and Mark Anthony in "Julius Caesar". William has also co-starred in traditional plays like "Black Nativity" as Joseph & "You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown" as Lious. Lastly, William starred in the independent film “God, Guns, Food, & Water”.
A Native of Detroit, Michigan, a founder member of an actor’s Fraternity on the Alabama State University campus, D G Phi and a member of the elite brotherhood of Freemasonry (Mason), William enjoys writing material and participating in stand-up comedy.
William is seeking to expand his resume from center stage to the camera lens by auditioning for TV series, film, and movies.
