Sarah Dees

Hello and welcome! My name is Sarah Dees.
I am an accomplished professional artist, entrepreneur, writer and educator, with over twenty-five years of professional experience. I've produced fine art in the past ( pictures to hang in frames on the wall). I am interested in expanding into other art fields and always seeking new opportunities. I write two features for and I'm just starting an additional feature writing about the "Best Of" Arts and Culture for the CBS Today web site, Tampa Bay area.

I am a single mother with a 16-year-old daughter, Cari. Cari is just starting her second year at St. Petersburg College as a dual enrollment student. I teach her art classes in home school. Technically, she is still in high school, 11th grade. She is a wonderful person and my dearest friend. We both love the arts; visual arts, performing arts, literary arts. We love education, and both strive for excellence in all we do! We both contribute to our community with volunteer work and believe in making a contribution.

I create paintings on paper and canvas, and paint murals on site. I make original fine art prints on my elephant etching press.

Throughout my career I have volunteered, to benefit children, the environment, health causes and the arts. I manage social networking for the Outdoor Arts Foundation, a non-profit arts organization.
I also manage an artists' resource group on Facebook.

I earned my BFA from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1982 after studying at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, for two years.

I now create art as a freelance artist in my home-based business, "Sarah Dees Art." I enjoy creating custom art on commission, and I am always seeking new opportunities.
