Sam Lara is a director/ writer/ producer who graduated from Queensland Academy for Creative Industries in 2011 where she was top of her cohort in both Theatre and Film for all 3 years she attended. She has had fiction and non-fiction writing published, produced several award-winning short films, received an ATOM Awards nomination and won a Queensland New Filmmakers Award in 2010 and was nominated again in 2012. She has had 2 of her original plays staged in Brisbane and in 2011 she won Best Comedy at BUFTA. She is now completing a Bachelor of Film and Television at Bond University and has directed and produced several short films in her first year, including a 2013 graduating film and a 2014 graduating film.
