Born in East Germany in 1984, Julia Walter studied literature and philosophy while working as an assistant director and interning at a number of film production companies. It was not long until she began studying to be a Director at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF).
Since, Julia’s short films have been invited to multiple film festivals all over the world and recieved several awards, among them The Murnau-Short Film Award, The Blaue Blume Romance Award, and Best Student Film Award at The Winter Film Awards in New York City. Currently she is representing German Short Films at Cannes as part of 2014 The Next Generation Short Tiger.
