When D.B. Cooper reappears fifty-five years after vanishing without having aged a day, an FBI agent investigating a human trafficking operation uncovers a conspiracy that may prove the infamous hijacker's impossible story is true—and that humanity is being sold to something beyond Earth.
SYNOPSIS:
In 1971, D.B. Cooper hijacks Flight 305, secures $200,000 in ransom and parachutes into a violent storm—vanishing without a trace. Fifty-five years later, FBI agent CALISTA MYLES raids an unregistered cargo ship commanded by the mysterious EVERHEART. Inside its containers, her team discovers terrified people abducted from across the world. Everheart murders two agents, takes Calista’s partner hostage and then disappears in a burst of light—leaving Calista unable to account for eight missing minutes.
That same night, three amateur investigators searching the Dark Divide for Cooper’s remains witness something crash into the forest. At the centre of the impact crater stands Cooper, still carrying the ransom money and looking exactly as he did in 1971. After surrendering to the authorities, he claims that only ten years have passed for him—and that he has returned to stop an extraterrestrial trafficking network abducting humans and selling them beyond Earth. Calista dismisses him as a fraud until Cooper names the man responsible: Everheart.
Before Calista can uncover how the two men are connected, Homeland Security seizes the case and Cooper escapes custody, leaving every agency in America hunting him. As Everheart moves to destroy the interrogation recordings and Calista realises Cooper possesses abilities no ordinary man could have, the greatest unsolved mystery in American history becomes the first clue to a conspiracy spanning Earth—and far beyond it.
