My name is Michel Lapierre. After more than three decades of practicing law, I have recently embarked onto the career of a writer. Prior to retiring as general counsel, I was a prosecutor, civil litigator, legal advisor and director of legal services units. As counsel to the Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Ontario Provincial Police, also having worked in a myriad of cases that include medical product billion-dollar class-actions and sunken treasures, I have explored and exposed the underbelly of human nature. These experiences have fed into my passion for script and novel writing. Two of my stories have made quarterfinals in competitions. Through the years, I have shaped my skills by studying part time at the Ryerson Film School, George Brown College and the Toronto Film School. Passions and stories have also been fed by my family that includes a wife who was a very senior government official, two boys and a dog (now past) who was on a Search and Rescue Team.
