I started freelance in Boston back in the early 1980's doing a lot of work for WGBH. I spent a year there around 1987 as Matt Lauer's lighting director before he hit the "big time". Then I went to NYC to become the Head Lighting Director for WWOR-TV. That's where I won my Emmy and was nominated for another. While there, I was Howard Stern's lighting director as well as Joan Lunden's. Talk about two different ends of the spectrum! I much preferred Joan. After three years of that, I moved to LA and back to freelancing. I worked some on the Paramount Lot, the Warner Brothers Lot and a bunch of other place. In LA I was nominated for another Emmy but didn't win. Now I live up the coast in Ventura and I'm writing full time. I seem to have a knack for attracting aging, iconic Directors of Photography. Vilmos Zsigmond is attached to direct one of my screenplays and Haskell Wexler is attached to direct another. This most important screenplay to me is about my all time hero, Phil Ochs. I've written a novel that set on the island of Nantucket, thirty miles off the coast of Cape Cod Massachusetts. I've been there several times for book signing events.
