You have constructed an emotional, realistic, touching film script that achieves some of what it sets out to do. To begin with, you utilize very effective scene descriptions that not only keep your script moving at a steady pace, but also don’t bog your reader down with unnecessary details. Additionally you manage to sometimes shade in characterization details through your descriptions, which is always beneficial. Jane and Ethan’s relationship is really sweet and endearing, and watching them connect is definitely the highlight of your script. It’s great to see these two wounded people bonding through like territory and not feeling so alone. Their end is so bittersweet, which shows you how this relationship is effective. Additionally, playing Jane and Ethan’s home lives off each other in parallel ways works quite well structurally as well as creating a compelling compare and contrast between the two. Lastly, there’s also a very consistent tone of dourness throughout your script, which is not always an easy thing to achieve. It definitely creates a very strong emotional feeling within the audience, and if nothing else works, at least this does still permeate and work.
