A young slave girl fights to free her family and friends from slavery while fighting her own inner demons.

SYNOPSIS:

Jessie is a young slave girl in Mississippi circa 1840, to the Adams' family . Secretly educated as a child, Jessie becomes disenchanted with her circumstances and systematically orchestrates the escape of several slaves on the underground railroad. Things begin to go awry when her complicated relationship with Sam, her master, and her tenuous friendship with Dr. McLeod, the neighboring idealistic doctor begin to take its toll and thwart her plans. But when jealousy leads to betrayal, Jessie is forced to make a ballsy move that she may not be able to come back from.
