About G.

Biography Imoya Monroque
Imoya Monroque discovered her passion for acting and production from the age of eleven while attending high school in her native country St. Lucia. She was invited to join the only theatre on the island, the Lighthouse Theatre Company where she was fortunate to study and work with renowned Caribbean writers and directors who fired up her interest in the craft. She performed in several local productions including Cashpandora and Lucian Soaps. She later spearheaded the formation of the St. Lucia national Theatre Company.
Although acting remained her secret passion she went on to pursue academic training at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica to complete a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and graduate studies in Development Policy. While in Jamaica she signed a contract with the most renowned Caribbean Model Agency, Pulse Model International as the only non-Jamaican model and worked as a runway and print model.
After college she moved back to St. Lucia to assume the post of Economist and later Marketing Consultant for the Caribbean Export Development Agency in Barbados and later relocated to New York for the position of Investment Promotion Manager. In her spare time, she enrolled in acting classes and slowly transitioned into the entertainment industry to pursue a full-time career in acting and modeling. As a model she has graced the pages of several magazines, walked the runways of many designers, appeared on TV shows including the Today Show and Good Morning America and booked several national commercials. With some independent films under her belt, she has worked on many movies sets and television productions both as an actress and behind the scenes in production. She has appeared on screen in Girls, The Other Woman, Law & Order, Ugly Betty, Power, Madam Secretary, Manhattan Love Story, Bored to Death and Person of Interest and co-starred in the films Stranger in Paradise, The Protokon and Her Song.
She is member of the Screen Actors Guild Radio and Television Artists (SAG/AFTRA) since 2002 and the New York Women in Film Television and New Media.
