SYNOPSIS:

Something is going on in the small town of Willow’s Bend. Bodies left unattended after death are disappearing. The families are furious. With no body there can be no funeral. And in some cases no cause of death was ever determined. But there is a connection. They all were examined by the same medical examiner and his where-abouts too are unknown. This town is on pins and needles. Once considered a very safe city and ideal place to raise a family, no one knows what to make of this latest misfortune. It was busi-ness as usual for most of the residents until late one night someone knocked on the door of the Whittaker home. Their lives will never be the same. Dr. Mendez is a well known and respected physician. He has dedicated his life to this cause and for many years has overseen the investigation in the local and surrounding municipalities. His opinion is highly respected among the medical commu-nity and his articles have been published in the American Journal of Medicine for years. When it is rumored that Dr. Mendez has been using deceased subjects to test a series of experimental drugs everyone was in disbelief. When it was discovered that the drug he was testing an intravenous anticoagulant, they were stunned. Could this have something to do with those missing bodies? Had he discovered a way to revive those deemed dead? There were so many questions to ask but no one who could answer them. But on one hot summer night, all hell broke loose. Those thought to be dead and gone resurfaced. Having escaped from the cavern where they had been housed, they come knocking with no knowledge of their history, full of anger and vengeance. They didn’t know who they were; they didn’t know where they were. They don’t remember their not so distant past and will stop at nothing to destroy anything or anyone in their paths in their journey toward redemption. They use darkness as their cover and their need for hydration as their fuel. They look alive, they act alive but they are dead. The Dead and Gone is a horror story about what happens when drugs go untested. When those tasked with alleviating pain causes pain, tasked with saving lives will go to any measures to produce results.
