I auditioned for my local drama course when I left school. Because I was working full-time, I was told I wouldn't be able to devote the time to the course. And as I was working as a bouncer I wouldn't fit in. I drifted through my 20's through many employments, soldier, bouncer,, boxer etc....I grew frustrated as I wasn't fullfilling my dream. Alcoholism took hold of me. When I was 30 I decided to try again. I succeeded on getting on a drama degree. I gave up drinking and passed. Instead of waiting for things to happen; I decided to write a 2 man play that was simple to stage with no props, about my experiences as a bouncer. It was a great success. Through that I won a scholarship on a writing course with a director from the National Theatre. I staged my 2nd play this year; 'Searching.' I was also fortunate to win an acting scholarship to the New York Film Academy. But I need enough funds to save enough funds to live for a year. I entered a cage fighting tournament to win £5,000, which would have helped considerably, but I broke my ankle. Should have tried golf instead! I am working so hard to get things doen and acvhieve my goals. I have written a screenplay of 'Doorways', and we have filmed a trailer, as if it were a finished film; to try and garner some funding and interest.
