ENTER AT OWN RISK
By Thomas L. Ferguson

GENRE: Horror, Independent
LOGLINE:

A group of men gather at an abandoned mountain resort for a weekend of restorations and male bonding, but are picked off one by one when the area's legendary serial killer resurfaces... or does he? Enter At Own Risk is a shocking, politically incorrect, and at times campy script that pays homage to the classic slasher films of the 1980's...with a gay twist.

SYNOPSIS:

Set in 1986, Enter At Own Risk is a frightening, yet campy script that pays homage to the classic slasher movies of the 1980's...with a gay twist. Its Brokeback Mountain meets Friday the 13th. Although serious themes lay underneath the surface story, the screenplay uses politically incorrect humor and witty dialogue to establish tone and character. It uses uniquely gory death scenes to bring scares and exciting visuals. It not only pays homage to the classic style, but lovingly pokes fun at it. With a shocking opening sequence and an even more outrageous ending tag, Enter At Own Risk is a twisted good time for horror fans.

Victor Miller (screenwriter of the original Friday the 13th) says Enter At Own Risk is “a good action horror script” that he “enjoyed the hell out of”. The script was an official selection at the 2014 Fright Night Film Festival and Shockfest Film Festivals. It went on to be nominated for Best Screenplay at Shockfest. It was one of two nominees selected to be read live at the festival's Writer's Symposium. It is currently one of ten scripts in competition at Chicago Horror Film Festival.
