1141AD - England. Haunted by a violent past, a disgraced knight is forced to pick up his sword one last time to defend a village from the very forces he once fought for.

SYNOPSIS:

As the first English civil war reaches its height, Sir Gilbert de Lacey flees the battlefield and is branded a coward. Thrown out of the family home by his father, he has no choice but to travel to France, leaving the war and his country behind for good.

Along the way, he encounters two monks who plead with him to protect their village from marauding bandits, but he refuses to sell his skills choosing instead to hire mercenaries to help train the villagers to protect themselves.

When innocent lives are lost, de Lacey struggles to face his fears as he confronts the very dangers he's escaping from.

What no one realises is that de Lacey is no coward, but a damaged warrior driven to the edge of madness by memories of his violent past, unable to contain his growing rage. They're all about to find out how far a man is prepared to go when he's pushed beyond his limits. He's about to find out if he can bring himself back from the brink.
