About KC
As a career journalist, I've worked both the hard news and features side of daily newspapers as a reporter, columnist and editor. I'm proud to have been on news teams that produced serious journalism that made a difference in the lives of the communities we served (Think "Spotlight," which I loved for its newsroom veracity). I've worked as a magazine writer and editor for several years now and am lucky to have worked with a remarkable team of editors and designers -- many of whom are under 30!
I earned my B.A. in film from the University of Art and Design in Santa Fe, N.M., plus a year of graduate studies in the classics at St. John's College. I have completed two pilots -- and took meetings!!! -- and am at work on a feature script. I am most attracted to stories that underscore personal heroism and integrity. Our culture is dying -- literally -- for want of storytelling that provides better access to being human with each other in workable ways, and I want to be a part of that storytelling.
I also really enjoy editing and am looking for projects editing scripts, cover letters and treatments to help writers look better than they ever have.
Unique traits: *I am a career journalist, writer and editor with a degree in film and a couple of completed scripts to my name. I am now working on a full-length feature based on a true story that I care passionately about telling. Such a crazy, beautiful challenge ...
