Ashley Lynch

I'm just your average 30 something writer / editor / producer / director / uncaptured serial killer. (That's what's known in the business as a quintuple threat!) I specialize in telling exciting genre stories centred around original characters and ideas. My personal mandate is to create total kick-ass female heroes for the screen that don't exist to be sexualized and aren't limited by their gender. I call this ".44 Calibre Feminism" or equal opportunity ass kicking.

Ever since I can remember, I've dedicated myself to story. Be it in print, illustration or film, I've always thought there was nothing greater than being able to entertain and emotionally affect an audience. My preoccupation with movies has led me to be involved with them all through my life. I've been a professional critic , a film journalist and even created a successful chain of video stores named Fresh Video.

It was only a matter of time before I would end up at film school, eventually choosing Columbia Academy in Vancouver, BC, mostly because of the generous scholarship they offered. However, 7 months into the program, the school was suddenly closed. Instead of seeing this as defeat or a setback, I promptly recovered my remaining tuition and used it to make my epic short film Last Flight of the Firefly.

In the last few years I have worked mostly in post-production with my work being seen on Discovery Channel and in many film festivals around the world.

I'm looking forward to launching my feature film career with the revenge thriller Chloe Didn't Come Home Last Night and the drama Underwater, as well as the myriad of other amazing projects I'll be involved with along the way.


So turn out the lights and come close, because I have so many wonderfully horrible things to show you.
