THE LAB

THE LAB
By Byron Olson

GENRE: Sci-fi, Thriller
LOGLINE:

The deep conspiracy that connects the 1947 Roswell Incident to present day Area 51 is not about little green Martians, it's about BIG green tax dollars.

SYNOPSIS:

THE LAB name is the Los Alamos National Laboratory… “The Lab” for short. The screenplay THE LAB is a Sci-Fi Thriller Drama telling the story of young Computer Science graduate David Ellis and his accepting of a position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory to head up the newly formed IT department in 1987. Part of David’s duties include completing the Data Entry of all old paper program files at The Lab to the newly launched computer server system. It is during this Data Entry project that David first uncovers files about an Incident at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. At first only mildly curious, David becomes increasingly obsessed and suspicious about the Roswell Incident and what role the US Government and the Los Alamos National Laboratory played in the incident. The Protagonist David is unaware at first that the Lab’s Security Director William Smith, the Antagonist, is watching him both at the Lab facility and on his free time away from The Lab. David meets a local nurse assistant, Maria Nunez, who becomes his LOVE INTEREST as she begins to help David track down people and visit places associated with the Roswell Incident.

The main story line of THE LAB is set in 1987 with flashbacks to the outbreak of World War 2 in 1939, the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, the decision in 1942 by FDR to launch the Manhattan Project which led to the formation of the Los Alamos National Laboratory, through the 1947 Roswell Incident and the moving of field testing from White Sands, New Mexico to the current location of the Nevada Test Site to the formation of the Groom Lake Test Facility that later became known as Area 51. I am outlining 3, 10 episode seasons of THE LAB with flashbacks occurring through seasons 1 & 2 of historical events in correct sequence that will lay the foundation for the flash-forwards in season 3 that bring us up to contemporary programs and contractors involved with present day activities at Area 51.

THE LAB was originally conceived as a Feature Film. With the suggestion to make it into a series I realized that the expanded story telling real estate of a multi episode series would allow for the whole story to be told with the correct background history and characters shown so that people will be able to clearly see and understand the truth about the Roswell Incident and how the Area 51 myth came into be.

THE LAB is not just simply the TRUTH about the 1947 Roswell Incident and what is currently going on at Area 51, THE LAB poses the question: Why is the United States Government continuing to spend Trillions of Dollars on advanced weapons development when our enemies now carry exploding back-backs or drive cars into crowded venues? The US Military doesn't need radar invisible $122million Stealth Fighters when our only enemies don't even HAVE a radar.

THE LAB Series will recreate the event where Bob Lazar saw what he thought was an alien spacecraft through the partially open doors of the S4 hanger. I know what Bob Lazar saw because I saw it too. The difference is I knew that I was looking at a man-made Low Radar Cross Section Vehicle. I thought the bizarrely exotic looking craft was a static mock-up for Radar Range test purposes only, I didn’t think it could actually fly, and I wouldn’t have believed that it could actually fly if I didn’t see it fly with my own eyes. This is the kind of accuracy the Sci-Fi Thriller Drama Series THE LAB will present. Everyone from the curious public to hard core Sci-Fi fans will be able to see the whole picture and easily understand how these separate conspiracy theories and narratives began and how they are all interconnected into one deep conspiracy that has nothing to do with little green Martians and everything to do with BIG green tax dollars.

I can see this as a series. The layers of cover up and conspiracy you could have even an X files kinda vibe with hints of aliens but never really confirming.
