About Luke

Luke grew up in an apartment block in communist China. He moved to Washington D.C. two weeks after 9/11. He used to carry a mallet and a stake to school in case of vampires. He married his high school sweetheart.

He’s an award-winning writer and musician who has interviewed Vanilla Ice, opened for Pseudo Echo, started Queanbeyan’s only KISS covers band, driven cars for an auction house, been pen pals with PK Shaw, and spent countless hours reading in empty supermarkets.

As a freelance music journalist, Luke has interviewed artists across the spectrum, from Vanilla Ice to Paul Kelly. His interviews, music criticism and opinion pieces have featured in publications including VICE, Popmatters, BMA (Canberra) and The Place (Far North Queensland).

As a screenwriter, he has written or co-written feature-length screenplays (two... and a half), TV specs (two pilots and several eps) and comic scripts (three). He's keen to write more, and is always looking for collaborators - be it a joint project, co-write of your idea, an adaptation, a last minute polish or a page one rewrite. Just ask! Scripts and samples available upon request.
