Hi All, Looking for some critiques on our first music video attempt. Thanks https://vimeo.com/100270508
Very Very Nice!!!
Liked the slow Intro, building character profile, before the music sounded. Interesting and edgy. It's good he gets to keep the girl, as they wander the rail track in unison.
Great job!!!!
Hey Bob. We met last night at The Table meeting. Looking forward to seeing soon!
Hey, Joseph! It was fun. And good luck with Zebra9. Nice trailer and scene. Be well!
Thanks! See you next meeting.

Would love to start a creative partnership group here in Los Angeles/Southern California with individuals looking to connect with like-minded creatives regarding film/video projects. Personally, I'm trying to build up a producer/director's reel and would not mind volunteering in other people's projects as an assistant producer, camera operator, actor. The group could meet on a regular basis and act as a cooperative venture helping those who are looking for help with their individual projects. Let em hear from you out there!
If i had been there I would love to venture in for an action movie.

At the moment we're helping each other develop small projects like actor's reels, screenplay ideas, stuff like that. If you'd like to join us, our next meeting will probably be on the 30th of this month. Contact me @ www.aramarentertainmentfilms@outlook.com.
Here's a photo of our Co-Op group made up of filmmakers, actors, writers and producers this past Monday March 9th, at Aramar Studio. From left to right: Steven Dones, me, Eliza Agudelo, Chris Sparks, Georgina Okon and Julian Flynn. We're working on producing actor's reel scenes for Eliza and Georgina written by Steven Dones, Chris Sparks and Eliza. Julian, Steven and I will be acting in those scenes. I'll be posting thoseclips sometime in April.

After 30 years in creative affairs and then acting, I'm throwing in the towel to focus on a third career as producer. It's a throw back to my education at USC/AFI in producing, but also an attempt to take control of my career/destiny. About ready launch a CABLE NETWORK LIMITED SERIES PROJECT. BIBLE is almost ready, scripts written. Just need a director of network repute and a couple of recognizable actors to include in the package. "Came out" on Stage 32 a week ago, although a member for two years. It's all a daunting effort. Keeps me waking up early. KEN B =

Is anyone out there using Sony's Ci, (Media Cloud Services)? I just checked the website and thought it was a great deal for anyone needing to share video proxies through the internet and have input from production team members who are in different locations. If anyone has any experience with this service, I'd like to hear from them.

I use 3 Samsung computer monitors that are color calibrated via my Spyder 2 by Colorvision. Two of them are S27A550H 27” monitors and the third is the new 4K model by Samsung, the UD28D590 all 3 are powered by an Nvidia GeForce GTX680 card . While they are all fairly accurate in representing what I’m working on, they are not truly “color accurate”. Real color space adjustable monitors by Sony, Flanders Scientific and others, start @ $2,500 which is out of my range right now. If you know of any color adjustable monitors under 1K or a clever work around , please let me know.
Thanks Drake! I appreciate the input. Soon as I get a little extra $$ I'll look at the HP Dream Color.

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!

Expand commentRichard, I produce an interview show on YouTube, (LA INTERVIEW) and I would like to invite any Stage 32 members to appear on it. There is no cost, the only requirement is that they have to be in Los Angeles, or be able to travel here and also that whoever appears on it as a guest, have video clips/footage of their work and legal permission to use such material. I tried posting the announcement on the jobs posting but it didn't take. Perhaps I made an error in posting it. Also I thought that I better check with you, because the jobs page might not ne the right place to post this. If you're curious, please check out my show on YouTube by typing Joseph Armillas LA INTERVIEW on the search window. Please let me know the best way to put this out there. Thanks!

Expand postHey fellow editors! We're looking to purchase another work station here and have been considering a PC for the first time since around 2003. At the moment we are completely mac based and leaning toward one of the new Mac Pro computers. But we've started research and found that there are many folks utilizing PC computers (Fully outfitted with time of the line equipment/parts) with some success. I'm not looking for a "Mac v PC" type debate generally, there are plenty of those around (in fact one started in this lounge 2 years ago that you can find by scrolling down). But I'm very interested to know if any of you have had success editing, doing post-work, etc. on PC computers in the last year or so. And if you have what type of computer is it and what type of hardware did you get? Also, any of you have the new Mac Pro with any reviews of it? Thanks!

Expand commentI totally agree with the above comments. I've not used a "trashcan" yet but, I use a similar set of software (Resolve light instead of FCP) on my recently purchased iMac... Though not as fast, especially with the deliverables encoding, it does the job and I still enjoy using my iMac more than the kick a$$ HP workstations I use at work. I don't have the specs but I'd love to have one at home! I've had years of experience on HP and MAC workstations and they're both solid. I'm not touting HP but you asked what I use. Sten is right about maintenance. You might do better to have an IT friend handy as you expand and upgrade to teach you how to troubleshoot and maintain your system however, on Mac I can usually do more overall system work without any help. Along with the tools I think the particular project, codecs and resolutions you need to work in can be a major factor in the decision as well.

Funny though I had a Mac guy come over and he watched me boot my PC ( I built) and he said; "What is that a super computer?" i boot within 10 seconds of start Fully up. After Effects opens within 10 seconds. I render out a 16gb Mpeg4 in about 15 minutes. I can be editing in Prem Pro Time Line, Open After Effects create a scene, be it using Mocha to track, or just some effects. Open Photoshop do the coloring if needed all at once. Never crash, never hang. I use Blender 3d and if you check my profile pic that space ship scene takes 8 minutes to render out 1 Frame. At 300 samples 1280x720. That is Pristine for Video or Broadcast, especially in motion. The cost for my computer under 2K to build. 4k to have Dell build it. No Monitor at that price. Win7 Pro O.S Intel i7 core 3770 CPU 16gb Ram 2 SSD's 250Gb a piece 3TB HDD for render out and storage. Quadro 4000 NvidiaGraphics GPU

Expand commentI used Macs for over 2 decades while working in the music industry and eventually got tired of the constant models and feature changes and switched to PC's when they matched Macs in performance starting in the mid 90's. For video editing I use Vegas Pro and Premiere Pro and AE along with Photoshop and Resolve 11 Lite on a PC with an i7 processor, 16 gigs of RAM and all SSD drives (four 500 Gig) along with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 video card running on Windows 7 - 64 Bit. My guy Ron Zarkesh at ZZ Computers here in West LA builds all my machines and their computers are rock solid and very reasonable price-wise. My current machine is not the rocket to the moon, but I've never had a crash or freeze even while editing stuff with lots of video, graphics and audio tracks and special effects. I recently started shooting and editing in 4K and I haven't had any issues with speed or performance. PC's are cheaper and in my opinion just as powerful as Macs, especially now that Macs use the same processors as PC's. Like Simon Simon says, render times are fast and easy. In my experience, PC's are no less reliable than MACs when it comes to maintenance. My next machine will probably be a PC with a Xeon 8 core processor with 64 gigs of RAM, all SSD's and dual graphic cards.
At my new editing bay studying DaVinci Resolve 11. I'm not trying to become a professional colorist, just upgrading my skill set!
It looks like a must see!
