SYNOPSIS:

William James Kingsland, a popular philosophy professor and chairman of his department, leads an insulated academic life in the pursuit of philosophical truths, especially those of Ralph Waldo Emerson. One of his favorite students, Michael Dillard, attends Kingsland’s classes with his best friend Sarah Beaumont, a science major. The new professor of Existentialism, Alex Rizzi, a mix of brains and beauty, arrives on campus. A spark ignites between her and Kingsland. Unbeknownst to Kingsland, a powerful elite, called the Society, meet at an elegant mansion to launch their radical agenda, a means of safeguarding the earth’s diminishing resources through extreme population control. An impending flu pandemic affords them the perfect opportunity to execute their plan through a deceptive flu vaccination program. They name their agenda The End Time Protocol and it is ruthless and sinister. It all begins when Sarah, working alone at the lab, views a page from one of the Society’s chilling experiments carelessly left on a computer by the science department head, Dr. Bennington when he momentarily left the lab. He is one of the Society’s research scientists. He returns and notices that she has seen the document. A chase ensues. She tries to phone Michael but he is busy meeting with Kingsland. Before she mysteriously disappears, she e-mails the data to herself. Fearing Bennington's carelessness could expose them, the Society whisks him away to their secret facility to continue working on the Protocol. When Sarah doesn’t show up for Kingsland’s class, Michael, secretly enlists kingsland’s estranged son, Will Jr., a computer-hacking whiz kid, to hack into her e-mail to find out what happened to her. Inspired by the principle of Higher Guidance taught by Kingsland and a dire sense of urgency, they discover The End Time Protocol. Will Jr.’s and Michael’s hacking activity exposes Kingsland to the Society, particularly to Joseph Foxworth, a secret member of the Society and ironically, Kingsland’s long time friend. He is an architect of The End Time Protocol. He is also a popular and distinguished senator running for re-election. Soon Kingsland finds himself engaged in an increasingly crushing struggle with Foxworth and the Society as Foxworth initiates a plan to intimidate Will Jr. and Kingsland into silence. Kingsland realizes that he can’t go to the authorities because of Will Jr.’s computer hacking past. Foxworth knows this. Then Foxworth has Will Jr. kidnapped and taken to a secret facility. When an naive Kingsland turns to him for help, Foxworth betrays him and issues a warrant for his arrest for Sarah’s disappearance. He now must run. Kingsland must find a way to expose the Protocol, find Will Jr., at the same time, accept the help of an enigmatic stranger called The Prophet, a Society elite gone rogue. He must also rely on Higher Guidance. In the meantime, on track with their pathological obsession to reduce the world's population, the Society completes their development of the Protocol and readies it for macro distribution. With the help of his new girl friend, Alex Rizzi, The Prophet, Michael, Kingsland finds and cleverly penetrates the facility where Will Jr. is being held and rescues him. They discover a secret lab and Sarah’s fate. They barely escape with the Protocol file knowing an enraged Society will soon track them down with the intent to kill them. They now know that the Protocol is an agenda to reduce the population through a free vaccination program. To make matters worse, Foxworth has won his re-election. There is another arrest warrant for both Kingsland and Will Jr. The odds to stop Foxworth and the Society seem impossible. Kingsland, Will Jr., Alex, and Michael are all fugitives hiding out from the Society thugs and the police. They hit a low point when Kingsland states that he does not know “how we are to survive this.” They soon discover that the Society will initiate the Protocol with a free flu vaccination program at Kingsland’s university. With the CDC declaring a flu pandemic, this is the Society’s moment of glory. It is also Kingsland’s only opportunity to defeat them. Armed with their wits and inspired by their faith in Higher Guidance, Kingsland and Will Jr., along with Michael and Alex, formulate their battle plan. Will Jr. must use his computer hacking skills to expose the Protocol to the highest authorities through the internet. With the police and the Society thugs hot on his trail, Kingsland must disrupt the program and then surprise Foxworth in a final confrontation.
