About Kimberle

Who am I?

Well to start with, I suppose I should say that I'm a cook. Not a chef, though I've had chef training. I'm a cook, and I enjoy cooking quite a bit. I'm not a cook by vocation, however. I'm a cook as a hobby, and it may one day pay for itself.

I am a Graphic Designer, Model Builder, 2D and 3D Artist, and I am the Visual Effects Supervisor on the Star Trek Fan Film Pilot: U.S.S. Lexington: A Documentary.

I am the founder of La Cultura Azteca, a non-profit organization that promotes the STEM/STEAM initiatives in schools and the maker movement by building studio-scale replicas of Science Fiction and Fantasy models from film and television. These models are taken to science fairs and maker faires to provide hands-on access for children of all ages, as well as curious adults.

Our inaugural project, A New Enterprise, focuses on building a studio-scale, highly precise replica of the Refit Starship Enterprise, as she appeared in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This model is beginning in CAE software, and will be built using the same methods used for building the original.

I'm also a photographer, and while I've been published, I am very far from a pro. I've got a few things posted online, ask me for more if you're ever curious.

In addition to these things, I'm just an average goofball. I spend most of my time sitting at my computer chatting with everyone, when I'm not cooking, taking photos, cleaning, and reading. From time to time, I will write the occasional short story. I've been encouraged to write something of a larger scale, but don't know if I'll get around to it or not. In a past life, I was also a musician, and have a couple of silly songs floating around out there.

Of course, I can't simply give you something short to read about myself, I'm just not that type of person. To learn about me, you have to read, or better yet, talk to me. I'll add a short list of interests below this so you have an idea of what to talk about. The one thing I will say about myself, which I suppose I've already said, is that I love to chat. I exist on most of the chat services out there, but as this is Facebook, you should message me here before trying anything else, so I'll know where random messages may come from. Read through the profile carefully and thoroughly, and if you have a question about anything you find in there, definitely ask me.

Oh, and one last thing: I'm fairly blunt about topics people are usually squeamish about. This means all manner of medical and biology things. To me, they are practical things, not "special subjects", so don't be thrown off if something along those lines ends up in one of our conversations at random. I guarantee at one point it will happen.
