Question!: When you guys are writing, do you imagine any particular actors and actresses reciting your dialogue, or not?

When I started high school I began writing those musings down and regaled my friends with the stories that came from my dreams and other inspirations. After graduation life happened and my aspirations took a back seat, but never went away. Now I am finally in a place where the passion has returned in full force, so I took a screenwriting class last semester. My previous method of storytelling was fiction novels, but now I enjoy both forms, and I want to share with others. I hope that I can cause others to get lost in a world I created the same way movies always have for me. Just wanted to say "hi", and I look forward to talking to other kindred spirits.

Expand commentGreat suggestions from my colleagues, Anthony and CJ. I know that being a working Mom with 2 children AND a job outside the home must be a challenge --- but you must shape your life to fit your new goal (writing) _vs_ seeing if you have any time left to write. I have never owned a TV and I dropped out of Facebook yrs ago -- two colossal ways that will erode precious writing time. You must trade off, Elizabeth, or else WRITING will always be "over the rainbow." Good luck to you.
All great suggestions and points. I will review my schedule and see where I can trim the fat so that my writing can flourish. Thanks to you all!
Welcome aboard! :)

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB

I only did that once. I had a difficult scene with no idea how to write it. I thought "what would Tom Hanks say here?" and got something down. I since polished it up to sound more like the character which is normally what I try to imagine.
I sometimes imagine a particular actor for my main characters. It helps alot with forming the personality and traits of that person in my work.

When I took a screenwriting class it was advised to make the character accessible...can you see various actors deliver the line and still be effective? I hope this helps.
