Hi, I hope I this is ok to post here, but I have a production company who is looking for something very specific - a "contained action" script preferably with male lead, which means 1-2 locations. Needs to be able to shoot under $5M. No horror scripts please! Please let me know if you have a really great script that falls within these parameters.
To answer some of your questions: I do not normally ask for action or contained action scripts. It’s out of my usual realm which is why I came here. If you look up Cranium Entertainment, you’ll see mo...

If you look up Cranium Entertainment, you’ll see more of the types of films we gravitate towards. I personally prefer to read comedy, action comedy, dramedy, Romcom and holiday scripts, but am open to reading really good content no matter the genre. The production company that I’ve worked with in the past reached out because they are looking for this specifically. Most likely I wouldn’t be involved in the production. I’m just helping out my peers! Thank you all, again!
Hey Kimberly, I just sent over an email about how Stage 32 might be able to help with this!
I have an action/thriller with 3 male antagonists and a female heroine who is a twin(one actress!) set on a barge in NY harbor (available!) and generic city street/office/park locations. Some extras. Is that close enough?
When Paul's sister goes missing, his search for her leads to an underground world of clowns and a brewing civil war of ideals...and pies. Lots of pies.
Matthew, this might be the most terrifying logline I've ever read. Truly.
But also: WOW, do I want pie.
I feel so conflicted right now!
Also: ...horror comedy, or comedy comedy?
Angela, glad the subliminal [eat pie] coding worked! It's actually comedy comedy, but lots of folks have thought horror comedy when they see the logline. Probably a sign I need to tweak it a little...

Do you as the writer write out whats going on in the story book scene along with what the character is saying? or continue on with their narrative? For example the character doing the voice overs says "Then the old man ran down the hill" and then you write the action: An old man runs down a hill. I know it's a simple minded question with a simple answer, but it would clear up alot! Thanks!

Expand commentI think you have to put anything you want the character (ultimately the actor) to do in action lines. Down the road in production, the director needs to know what you were seeing when you wrote the scene, not what the character was telling him you were seeing. That being said, I think the trick is to give your book reader/VO character dialog which accentuates what's happening on screen, instead of parroting whats happening on screen. Otherwise you're risking boring the reader and ultimately the audience. Ex: NARRATOR (V.O.) He was a simple farmboy and she was a princess. Their love could never be acknowledged. Ext. Farmhouse near base of castle Farmboy absently milks a cow while gazing longingly at the castle. Princess looks down from a window, then turns away pretending not to see him
Hello amazing people! Anyone attending Las Vegas Lift-Off end of June? Let's meet and greet!
I'm gonna try and make it. Do you know of anything playing to be on the look out for?

You can check out the website (http://www.lift-off-festival.com/festivals/las-vegas-lift-off-film-festi...) to see if you recognize any of the contestants. I didn't. I'm hoping they will have a program on site to help choose what to see. If not, I might just try and see as many as I can. Or maybe toss a coin, it's Vegas after all.
