About Liana
Liana Avetisyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. She studied acting at Hayfilm Actor's Studio, then pursued her studies at Howard Fine Acting Studio in Los Angeles. Still a student, Liana began to play in films and performances. Films with her participation have been screened and won awards at a number of international film festivals including Pomegranate Film Festival (Canada), ARPA Film Festival (USA), Fribourg IFF (Switzerland), LET'S CEE IFF (Austria), Berlinale EFM (Germany), Busan APM (South Korea), Clermont-Ferrand IFF (France), Camerimage IFF (Poland), and so on. In 2012, together with her two friends, Liana co-founded EPSIDON Theater which is now one of the leading independent theaters in Armenia. In 2016, Liana was nominated for ARTAVAZD National Theater Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress. In 2018, Liana received the ONE SQUARE METER International Theater and Performing Arts Festival Best Director Award for her stage-directing debut; in 2021, she received the Best Actress Award of the same festival for her role in a documentary monodrama. Apart from film and theater, Liana currently works as a voice and dubbing actor for films and videogames, speech coach, and translator of literary works. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Foreign Literature and is a member of the Armenian Committee of EURODRAM European Network of Playwrights & Translators, as well as THE FENCE international network for working playwrights and people who make playwriting happen - across Europe and beyond.
