Ric Forster

Director and screenwriter in Melbourne, Australia

About Ric

I've worked as a producer, writer and director on TV and digital projects for over a decade. Specialising in extending narrative storylines into the digital space, my credits include creating content for ‘Apparitions’, ‘Paradox’ and teen drama ‘Hollyoaks’, where I also storylined the show.

In 2012, i teamed up with YouTube pranksters The Janoskians to create a hybrid TV/webseries for MTV Australia, based on their comedy channel.

Recent work for the long running Australian TV drama ‘Neighbours’ includes story consulting, overseeing the show’s social/digital strategy and creating webseries ’Neighbours VS Zombies’ - a collaboration with YouTuber Louna Maroun as part of Google’s Skip Ahead programme.

I'm currently in post production on my debut feature film, sci-fi drama ‘Time Apart’, produced as part of Melbourne’s ‘Lean Filmmaking’ accelerator, which applies lean methodology to content production.

  • Neighbours

    Neighbours (2013 - 2015)
Television (Drama and Romance) Producer Serial chronicling the lives of the residents of Ramsay Street in the fictional Australian suburb of Erinsborough. When the series began, it revolved around three families - the Ramsays, the Robinsons and the Clarkes, living at no. 24, no. 26 and no. 28 respectively. Nowadays, the scope of the programme is much wider and only one member of the original families remains in the street. The show reached a watershed in 1997 when the last remaining original character, Helen Daniels, died. The departure of her relatives and arrival of the Scully family marked the start of a new era for Neighbours. There's never a dull moment in Ramsay Street, and despite their many feuds, the residents will always - in the words of the show's theme tune - "be there for one another".
