About Thayne

I'm a cross-disciplinary artist that started out as a draughtsman, then graphic designer, to illustrator, film director, photographer and educator. Life led me through these creative fields because of necessities of the life. Otherwise, I may have remained a fine artist. I have chosen filmmaking because is uses all of these creative traits and more.

Besides my past experience in the other creative industries, I work on filmmakers' projects as a Production Designer or Art Director. My artistic background helps me create the visual thread through their story. I have been fearfully working on switching gears to directing. I do have the educational background and years of experience working under other directors. I also excelled as a graduate student in film, but I never could see the path in that career. I'm learning that you clear that path as you move forward.

I have been working on my own short / poc. I have finished filming it and now it goes through the post process. The DP wants to edit it and I feel he may be stronger in that area. I derived the short from a feature I have written. My first one.

I did one other short several years ago. I thought of reviving it and see if I can make it better in the post process. That way, I'd have two shorts.

I have listened to RB's audiobook, "Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers." I need to apply what I have learned. It has been very helpful as well as the various podcasts that I follow, such as Alex Ferrari's multiple podcasts.

I'm interested in learning to produce my own productions. Instead of working on others productions solely, I'd like to create my own content and bring on other creatives to help me accomplish my vision. I feel that I need to at least get one feature under my belt.

States of Grace (2005)
Film (Drama) PA Although Elder Farrell and Elder Lozano are assigned together as Mormon missionary companions they are a study in contrasts. Farrell, from Utah, is bookish, sensitive, focused on seeking potential converts, and dedicated to following mission rules. Elder Lozano was shot by a rival gang when being initiated into the Latino gang of his brothers and then was converted to the LDS church while recovering at the same time as a missionary in the hospital.
