Carl’s first feature was shot on 16mm in his home state of Montana and had its debut at the Brisbane Film Festival in Australia. After a transition from live theatre to film work he relocated from Seattle to Los Angeles, where he took acting classes and wrote numerous spec screenplays while at the same time directing several theatre productions. He directed and produced his second feature BEAUTYSLEEP SYMPHONY starring Dee Wallace and Max Gail in a whirlwind three weeks.
He has founded five live theatre groups which are still in operation in the Seattle area and Montana. In these theatres he produced and directed over a hundred plays and musicals and wrote and produced five plays. He earned his MFA in Drama at the University of Montana in Missoula and taught at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada while he earned his Master’s Degree in Directing.
Carl’s third feature THE PATHETICALLY CHEAP ADVENTURES OF XTRA-MAN was written, produced, and directed out of the need to provide moviegoers with a quirky entertainment that would provide much needed diversion in these difficult times.
TRINGLED, the story of an ex-CIA agent who is traumatized by his past and hires two brilliant out-of-the-box psychiatrists to uncover his past, is his fourth feature.
MALCHUS, his last feature centers on a small-time mob wannabe who becomes a Judas to his best friend, but in the process he relives a painful moment in the Garden of Gethsemane as his ear is severed by the disciple Simon Peter. Redemption 2.0.
Carl is currently developing plans for distributing his completed films.
