Thanks Tony. :) "The rules?" Nah. It's simply members posting in the wrong place -- consider site organization and intention of a post. There is a method to all our wonderful madness. Proper placement is more effective for a poster's needs. Plus, it keeps job postings and self-promotion out of the forums. With over half a million members, that's a good thing. :)

Best of luck. Fingers crossed for you!! I have to agree with you about the time. I attended a pitchfest in which you had 5 minutes to pitch. Even though I had my pitch down to 1.5 minutes, it still didn't leave a lot of time to speak to the producer and answer his questions. But, there were a lot of writers there and the event probably would've lasted all day if the pitches were longer.

If that is the case, I've worked for over 10 years as a Federal Attorney, although I'm not fully familiar with Canada legal system. Message me with your project and we can see if we can work something out.

Thanks Owen, don't know why they do that... most disconcerting. It take a little while for me also to check the dates. I just assume everything is current.

It's a good thing. Why would it be a bad thing?! My personal general rule of thumb is that you can send a very polite follow-up note in 3 weeks. You don't want to be pushy, but you don't want to be too lackadaisical. If you don't follow up at all, I'd think, "man this writer doesn't give a crap so why should I?" You might expect an answer in 2 weeks, 2 months, or never. One never can tell.

Hey Dave, I'm Will. I'm a screenwriter and director based out of Phoenix, AZ. What kind of projects are you interested in? Something comedic or are you looking to expand into darker areas like drama or horror?

Nice to meet you, Will. I tend to write kind of funny, mostly I have a decent ear for snappy dialogue - so I guess I default to comedy, but am just as interested in other genres. I'd say suspense more than horror. You kind of get stuck with whatever ideas you have, you know? Right now I have a couple ideas for animated television shows, both of which could also be pitched as live-action. They're both kind of action-comedy. I wrote 3 episodes of one of them. Still brainstorming the other idea. And there's a live-action short film I want to make when I figure out how to pay for it!
