Am a screenwriter who became a father last year and I sat down to think what my priorities are. I listed them as...
1) Creating new wonderful worlds on blank pages with memorable characters, then torturing them until they break out of their mental shackles and reveal to me what they really are.
2) Changing Diapers of my one and a half year old son while he smiles and gurgles.

Then I thought it shouldn't be in this order.
Work can wait but my son is growing. I wont have this time with him again.
So I re-analysed my priorities and now they are as...

Yes it remained the same. Not because I love writing for cinema more than my son. But because I need to create worlds that tomorrow he can visit along with the million others. And he can stand in those worlds and get amazed, feel loved, learn, grow... and even after I am gone, he will get to meet me whenever he would watch of the stories told by me. THAT is screenwriting for me.

THAT is what will push me and keep pushing me till I have shared with everyone the stories that I want to tell him. Stories of bravery. Stories of love. Stories of humans. Stories - that's my legacy.
