SYNOPSIS:

Skyscraper - an animated adventure for the whole family New York, 1929. Skyscrapers grow towards the sky and Scrap, a small baby harrier loses his family in a tragic accident. After a perilous journey through the sewers of New York, he arrives in Central Park and is adopted by a nice squirrel family. Time passes and Scrap becomes part of the family. He and his brother Skip are almost inseparable even though they are quite different. Scrap is a little coward, always thinking about what could happen to him and those around him and Skip doesn‘t care about consequences, he‘s always ready to try something crazy. Soon their friendship takes a turn towards rivalry and when their father gets killed by a harrier while trying to teach Scrap how to fly, they almost become enemies. Scrap blames himself and his brother treats him like an outcast but their caring mother Holly tries her best to keep the family together. But when Holly gets abducted by another harrier the two boys have to mount a rescue mission into the big city. Instead of working together they turn the rescue mission into a competition. Scrap gets captured by an army of fascist guinea pigs commanded by General Fluffy and the two brothers have to set their differences aside and work together. They almost defeat the guinea pig army but Fluffy floods the underground city and the two brothers get separated, each of them thinking the other one is dead. Meanwhile, Holly finds herself in a nest on top of the almost finished Empire State Building. She is not alone: two eggs are about to hatch. She is able to free herself and she could start the long climb down but there is a storm gathering and the two eggs might not survive it. She decides to save the two eggs. Scrap’s journey leads him to the New York Public Library, where he meets Piers, a wise bookworm. He receives flying lessons and an important life lesson. Skip wakes up in guinea pig prison and meets some new (strange) friends. Together they decide to defeat Fluffy once and for all and free the guinea pigs from his terrible rule. Skip and his friends defeat Fluffy in a hilarious fight and together they set out to safe Holly. Scrap has the same thought and leaves the library and thanks to Piers’ help, he has an idea where his mother might be. Skip on the other hand has no clue, his only chance is to get grabbed by a harrier and hope that he takes him to the same nest. Skip’s crazy plan works but his mother is long gone. Holly reaches the ground and is reunited with Scrap. Their reunion is saddened by the apparent death of Skip but when they meet Skip’s friends they find new hope and they return to the Empire State Building. Meanwhile, Skip is fighting with the harrier, trying to avenge his mother. Holly and Scrap reach the top of the building just in time to end the fight and reunite the harrier with his family but an old foe returns: Fluffy, this time with an army of vicious rats. The gigantic showdown begins and with the help of all their new friends our heroes are finally able to set their differences aside and do what’s necessary. Scrap finally has the courage to fly, Skip finally accepts help and Fluffy finally gets what he deserves. Not everyone gets through these events alive but the family emerges bigger and stronger from their big adventure. If you want to know more, visit my homepage: www.whiteworms.com
