Frontières International Co-Production Market in Montreal

I've been a part of this market in the past and made some great connections. This year a project I'm involved in is part of the pitching lineup. Every year they choose about twenty projects and the filmmakers get to go on stage to pitch to industry professionals. If you're able to come to Montreal n...

How long or short is the best concept for a log line?

Elisabeth Meier

Wow, thank you, Steven! You must have 'heard' that I was thinking about you and producing HSM while reading Richard's Blogs and Interviews here on S32. Don't want to spoil William's thread here and will post it on your profile.

Elisabeth Meier

Oh boy, Steven, you got me wrong. I am NOT producing HSM, but was reminded to your plans how to do it by crowdfunding when Richard explained how to do it and thought I must tell you this. And Steven, this is not my profile, but still Williams thread. Sorry, William!

Elisabeth Meier

lol, Steven, not that bad - and I understand the Yiddish :) Say hello to Ruppert. I like his paintings.

Hey there

Just signed up to Stage 32. What an amazing website! Wish I would have heard of it sooner. As for me, I'm a independent screenwriter from Montreal. Individual methods of story development.

I'm keen to learn all the different methods writers use for story development. From the original outline, to the first draft, second draft, and right through to the final draft. Do we all use the same set in stone process? Or do some of us have a totally different process? I hope this is not somethi...

Whether successful short film could open the door for a feature film?

Whether successful short film could open the door for a feature film?

Christopher Binder

The people who did Beasts of the Southern Wild did a short film before that and were approached by a backer who would support whatever they decided to do next. That's like a one in a million thing that happened but it is proof that it can happen.

Stevan Šerban

Is it possible that one successful short make that producers want to know what you have for feature movies? Sorry for my bad English!

Christopher Binder

Possible yes, but don't hinge your entire career on it. It's who you know way, way more than what you know in this business.
