A journey of one man's life, from small boy to the day he retires and that what has gone before is only as important as the legacy he leaves.
SYNOPSIS:
Little Tam lives in post-war Glasgow where, in the eyes of this nine year old boy, steam trains dominate more than just the landscape.
As a treat, Tam gets to light the fire on his father’s engine – a magical experience for him; the sounds, the smells, the camaraderie and the bacon and eggs cooking on the coal shovel.
Jumping forward to the present, Tam, now a train driver himself sits in the cab of his modern sprinter train on his last day, wondering where the time has gone. However, the day has a special send-off planned for him.
