About David

All work and no play makes... me want to direct some more... then edit it, add some visual FX maybe, do the grading, force myself to try and mix the audio properly, then stick it up here on my website for everyone to see. Yep, that's me.

I've been making short films, music videos, documentaries and more for over 15 years now. It's all been kinda small time, it's been a hobby more than anything, but now I want it to be more than that. It needs to be more than that. I don't want to read all arrogant, but for me it REALLY needs to be more than that.

I just simply love directing. I love directing, I love shooting, I love editing and I just want it to be what I do 24/7. So I've set up this website to house a portfolio of my work and a blog that will keep any readers up to date on the projects I'm working on and all kinds of things I wanna talk about... go check it out at

Most of all I want you to see and hopefully enjoy my work... and hey, if you wanna offer me a job, I'd be down with that...

  • Making A Return To Monster Island

Making A Return To Monster Island (2003)
Film (short) (Comedy, Documentary and Sci-Fi) Director / Co-Writer / Editor / Visual FX A mockumentary detailing the untold story of how the sequel to the biggest block-busting movie of all time, never came to be… It became the biggest grossing movie of all time and remained in the hearts of movie-goers for the decades to come. In the summer of 1993, ‘Destroy All Monsters’ battled it out in a head-to-head with ‘Jurassic park’ for the summer cinema-going audience and won by a landslide, outdoing the latter’s profits by 4 to 1! It was huge! ‘Titanic’ never came close to how big this movie was! ‘Avatar’? Give me a break! ‘Destroy All Monsters’ was a monster movie like no other. It’s epic scale, it’s endearing characters, it’s classically interwoven plot of good versus evil struck a chord with audiences worldwide and made it the most memorable film of the 1990′s. Inevitably, a sequel was not too far away. However, reuniting the cast and crew on a film with three times the budget of the original, a script in disarray and 67 executive producers was never going to be an easy task. Everyone wanted a piece of the property… ‘Return To Monster Island’ combines recently filmed interviews (with all the principal members of the cast and crew) and archival material shot during the unseen sequel’s production to finally answer the question… what the hell happened on this never-to-be-seen movie?
