FOR BLUE
By Suzanna Johnson

GENRE: Action, Adventure, Family
LOGLINE: A group of animals whose island is threatened with flooding and rising sea levels set out in an ark to find the missing father of one of their own.

SYNOPSIS:

“For Blue” is like a cross between “Finding Nemo” and “Happy Feet.” The story’s about a creative, tattooed female fruit bat named Foxy who learns from her friend Izzy, a male tree shrew, about a storm that threatens to permanently flood the island due to rising sea levels. As such, Foxy and Izzy warn their island classmates and families, but no one takes them seriously. The storm deals a devastating blow to the island. In hopes of finding her father near San Francisco where he was last known to be located, Foxy departs with Izzy and helps rescue stranded islanders. To seek help with addressing the environmental issues that contributed to the massive island flooding, Foxy and Izzy plan to present at an Earth Summit also in San Francisco. Early on in their journey, Foxy and Izzy meet Blue, a deaf blue whale, who becomes the group’s navigator across the ocean. Toward the end of the second act, Blue is severely wounded in an effort to save the mission from demise. With a hint of romance, Izzy helps Foxy realize her inner strength, leadership skills and her outside-of-the-box thinking that could ultimately save the day.
