Hi Rebecca thanks for connecting!
Hi Rebecca thanks for connecting!
Thanks for the invite Richard... what is your favorite genre of screen play do you enjoy writing the most?
Agreed!
Thank you for making me smile! Great to connect, nice to meet you. :-)
I agree! Seems like there's enough stories to make into independent films, but not enough money.
Hey, Trish...My wife has a last name of Scro and she was told recently that it was originally Sgro. Any info on that?
Wow! sorry I have not been on the site but yes Scro is from Sgro which is derived from the word "curly" in Greek. Most are from Sicily we are from Capo di Orlando near Messina. Tell her to check out some FB pages for Sgro's a couple people in NY and Italy started pages for Sgro's.
I have a long history with many of the star impersonators and did a script for Michael Saquella, one of the old Blues Brothers duo. Thanks for the invite. What happens in Vegas does need to stay in Vegas. luck.
Re-reading your comment, I'm curious for further explanation, Marvin. Are playwrights more arrogant as well?
I heard the original idea and script for VALKYRIE was ripped off from an Australian guy. He didn't bother pursuing it because he thought he would have no chance.

Expand commentPlaywrights have the ultimate control of their material. They hire/fire and can close down production if someone changes a single word of their written words. Jack Warner, (guess the studio), didn't want screenwriters to exercise the same level of control over film production, so he made it his ambition to relegate screenwriters to the lowest level people in film. (Most screenwriters are not even allowed on film sets). Yet, without screenwriters, there is no film industry, nobody works.
Hi Richard, always happy to talk. Drop me a line any time. Sincerely, Ron Lester 440-243-4950 rlhelpsu@gmail.com
I have submitted my spec script to many agents and producers and not one has answered back, I met them at a conference and they stated they were interested... :-( Is this the norm, the nature of the beast? Or am I doomed. Just trying to get a feeling for the business.

I just realized you posted this a year ago.... hope you had some luck.

The secret is to attract them to you! Write some screenplays as eBooks and gain a following. Enjoy what you do and continue to do it. ;) The right producers, agents and opportunities are bound to meet at a crossroads. IF you don't quit! <3

Expand postJust finished a script for a Secret Service friend of mine, based on a novel he wrote about a counterfeiter and a gunslinger in the Aiizona Territory in the 1890's. Took awhile with procrastination, but decided to focus and not stop until it was completed. I feel like a woman that just gave birth to a new baby. Exhausted but satisfied. With all the Navy Seals talk and books, I am going to see if I can market my original Navy Seals script that I wrote for Tom Cruise (when he was just a boy). When I was in teh LA Field Office, my partner was Gerry Petievich, who wrote "To Live and Die in LA"/ Back when I looked like William Peterson.
