JP has worked in the British TV & Film industry as a Film Editor, Colourist, VFX Artist and VFX Producer for almost 20 years working on countless long and short form television including drama, documentary, concerts, promos, commercials and over 20 Feature Films.
Having been invited to develop a feature film he began researching themes close to his heart and relevant to his life in London. This was the catalyst for a lengthy investigation in to the west’s unhealthy attachment to all things physical and emotional, the destructive nature of attachment. He was particularly drawn to our relationship with property, ownership, mortgages, debt, the economic downturn and the mental health and social ramifications - Disappointment, anxiety, insomnia, sleep paralysis, alcoholism, PTSD, depression, rage, psychosis and breakdown. This inspired JP to write the script for Gods Acre and subsequently direct the feature film that completed post production in 2015.
Gods Acre is a thriller about heavy drinking, agoraphobic, ex property developer Malcolm who has lost almost everything to the recession. He has one remaining property, his only chance of escape from a lifetime trapped in a the cycle of debt. He needs to renovate and sell... fast. But work comes to a premature halt when he discovers the layout of his home doesn’t match the original plans. Partition walls have been erected over the originals entombing a dark secret within. The film has just finished post production and is due for release
