Andrew Kinderman, a loner and scifi geek without any
friends, witnesses the murder of his neurobiology professor and is shot
by the killers as well. His mind is catapulted out of his now comatose
body and is 'anchored' to the only person he really cares about: The star of his favourite mystery TV show, actress Anna
Chastings.
SYNOPSIS:
When Andrew witnesses the murder of his professor at campus and ends up with a bullet in his chest, he is able to travel outside his body but he feels a terrible pain. From a ghost girl he meets in the hospital, he learns about his anchor: A person or place he cares about, so she says. He needs to stay close to that place or person or the pain he's feeling will slowly tear him apart. The ghost tells him to do something he would do in order to wake up from a bad dream, and he will automatically return to his anchor. Andrew follows the advice and ends up on the passenger seat of Australian actress Anna Chastings, the star of Andrew's favourite TV show and the object of his - more or less - secret desire.
This series explores a protagonist who barely manages his own life. He has no friends and no social life, if it was up to him, he'd love to stay in his small apartment and escape to the fictional universes of his TV shows and super heroes. If he wants to save his own life, he will have to transform into a hero himself and find a way back into his body, which sounds easier said than done if you find yourself in the middle of a conspiracy, plotted by a secret organisation which aims for nothing less than worldwide mind control.
