About Scott

Born and Raised in Virginia, Scott moved to New York City as an actor and model at the age of 18. He paid the bills with Soap Opera roles, Axe deodorant commercials, and many a department store billboard. But it was away from the camera, taking writing classes at The New School, and then film school at The New York Film Academy that he honed his craft and passion for storytelling.

In 2010, his debut short, The Ashes, a dark comedy where four siblings must battle over what to do with their parent's ashes, premiered at the New York International Film festival, and screened again at the Newport Beach Film Festival. In 2011, he launched Hornsby Films, a company now known for its eclectic mix of commercial and artistic videos that have helped launch such brands as Avital Zeisler's "Soteria Method" and Roberto Cabrera's "Man About Town."

In 2012, Scott produced, shot and directed, "The Hammer," a feature length documentary on "the hardest cycling race in the world." The subject of this documentary was hit, run over and dragged by a car on day 3 of his 10 day journey but impossibly managed to finish - in the same place as when he was hit!

While writing and developing scripts for film and web series, Scott has had the pleasure of associate producing a feature length horror film, The Watermen, with Jason Muse; was Assistant Director on the short comedy Red Dot, and is currently producing and directing a new documentary, The Gifts, focusing on WWII vets and how they have lived lives of passion, purpose, and regret.
