About Dawn

Summer 2017 = Ooooooohmygawd editing. And ghostwriting. Plus translating and transcribing for CDMX casas de producción. And course designing. Re-designing, I mean: my F2017 > Myth and Ritual at MCAD and my first ever MOOC, An Anthropology of Fashion, adapted from my old SAIC course. After all of this, pues, I'm supposed to be writing, like, my own stuff. Maybe that'll happen tonight. Or tomorrow. Or the day after that.

My body is back in Mexico City, chilling with my books in Escandón.

As of Spring 2016: Writing my ass off, adjuncting at MCAD, seriously considering dropping back into grad school for a second or two, also seriously considering a grown-up job (in Minneapolis or Montevideo or Chicago or Buenos Aires or...).

As of Summer 2014: Dropping out of grad school, finishing the book, developing an anthropology of fashion and dress practice at SAIC (and MCAD, someday, if I can get them to let me), seeking fieldwork in the fashion industry in Mexico City, launching a "laboratorio artístico-cultural" also in Mexico City, casually interviewing transvestite fathers without telling IRB about it, and editing for friends around the edges. Oh, and paying my rent by assistant directing boyband music videos and internet television series.

My body is currently in Mexico City.

Unique traits: I am an almost PhD in Anthropology with a long history of work in production and post-production as well as flexible finance and business start-up, and thus... I guess you might say... I am dynamic? At present I am most invested in my ethnographic research, writing, editing, translating, and transcribing, though I like all cool new opps. Always.
