SYNOPSIS:

It will begin by adapting Darger’s life based on his autobiography The History of My Life, and the 4,672 page fiction within it about the tornado called “Sweetie Pie” will be portrayed. Darger’s witnessing of Sweetie Pie results in him splitting between two personas, one on the planet that Earth orbits as a moon, where he takes on the role of Penrod in The Realms of the Unreal; the other being Penrod on the Earth orbiting The Realms of the Unreal where the story Crazy House takes place. The stories are occurring simultaneously with parallel intercutting between them. Initially, The Realms of the Unreal will have the sad ending where the Vivian Girls are defeated, but the success of the exorcism at the end of Crazy House causes The Realms of the Unreal to get the happy ending with the Vivian Girls winning the war. Darger then returns to himself in our reality and begins writing down his life’s works. The animation will be styled after Darger’s illustrations, with the purely drawn elements animated in watercolour-style animation, and the collage elements animated in a similar fashion to Terry Gilliam’s animations.
