A young woman in 1914 Oklahoma dreams of having a career. And builds an oil empire.

SYNOPSIS:

Jessie McCarey is more comfortable riding, hunting or roughhousing with her six rowdy brothers than doing "women's work." Her escape from housework appears when she learns how the wildcatters in 'The Osage' (Indian territory) successfully form drilling companies. After engaging her reluctant brothers, their company flourishes, while Jessie's personal life careens. After a breakup with the banker's son she has been seeing, her family worry that no one will capture her wild heart. Enter Jake Trenton, an ambitious flier from the east. Jake encourages Jessie's fierce ambition and they are soon enrapt with one another. The story spans three decades and when Jessie's position at McCarey Oil is at stake, her loving family surround her with support. The climax of a battle with the board of directors ends in a surprising twist!
