Debbie Castanha

Debbie Castanha lives in Santa Barbara, California. She is a two-time Semifinalist of Academy Nicholl, as well as a Semifinalist at Austin Film Festival, Page, Big Break, and a Finalist at Roadmap, Script Pipeline, and ScreenCraft competitions.

She earned spots at The Black List Feature Writers Lab and Stowe Story Lab in Vermont, won a Coverfly Table Read in Hollywood, and has had two paid writing assignments.

Debbie loves to explore Man's search for meaning while mining the vibrancy of our diversity in story, and is known for her complex character portrayals and emotionally resonant stories.
