Nathaniel Pickney

Hi there, my name Nathaniel and my desire is to be a movie director and and a screenwriter. I graduated from the Community College of Southern Nevada with an associate's degree in videography and film. I'm currently in post production on my short film Familiar's Reach and I'm studying my screenwriting bible to help me improve my craft. I seek to do big epic films one day, but for right now I'm starting small. I've studied movie making for five years and yet I still have so much left to learn, so much I don't know. I've been a grip, a gaffer, a sound guy, extra, camera operator for a couple of student films, though it is my desire to be on a professional set.

Even, if it's just as PA I want to become the best filmmaker I can and know more about how the business side of things work as well. I love fantasy, sci-fi and action/ adventure films the most, but I also dig a good comedy or drama or suspense thriller. I would love to create stories as glorious as the Lord of Rings trilogy or Star Wars and better something unique and original. I would be an honor to pick the brain of seasoned filmmakers, learn from my mistakes and do build my knowledge and skill. It is my hope that being a part of a grander community will help achieve that.
My favorite directors are Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, early Tim Burton, early George Lucas, James Cameron, Ron Howard, Paul Greengrass and Ridley Scott, Richard Donnor, Mel Gibson and Quentin Tarantino.
