About Saba

Saba, the founder of Cloudy Sky Films, was born in Nimes, France. He studied acting at the Conservatory of Dance and Drama in Cannes and performed in France for many years before moving to the United States in 1996 to become a member of the Martha Graham Dance Ensemble. After presenting his own productions with Saba Dance Theater for five seasons and receiving the Bessie Audience Award for best performance in 2004 for "The Four Seasons," he decided to pursue his dream and passion as an actor. Since 2006, Saba has appeared in many independent movies, television shows, and major productions such as Cédric Klapisch's "Chinese Puzzle" and "Men in Black 3," directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. In 2010, Saba started Cloudy Sky Films, an independent film production company based in New York City, in order to create roles for himself and other actors by writing, directing and producing various shorts. The first project he produced with Cloudy Sky Films was "Sherry's Kitchen," a fiveepisode web series featuring Saba as Sherry Cordial, a female celebrity who hosts a cooking show. The following year Saba wrote "About a Week," a feature-length screenplay. He then excerpted a short film from the script in order to promote both his acting and the potential production of the full feature. "About a Week" has now garnered three festival awards in three categories: ComedyDrama Short (2012 Indie Gathering Film Festival), Merit in a Leading Role (2012 La Jolla IndieFest Film Festival), and Original Feature Screenplay (2013 Indie Gathering Film Festival). A preview screening and focus group was recently held in New York City to celebrate the third anniversary of Cloudy Sky Films and the completion of "Snow," the first independent feature film written, directed and produced by Saba, who also stars in the leading male role. For the past six years, Saba has attended a weekly Acting for Film class under the direction of Bill Hopkins in New York City.

Film (Action, Comedy and Horror) Producer Holy Hell is the over-the-top, outrageous, sexually-deviant, blood-drenched story of Father Augustus Bane: a priest pushed too far who begins praying to a revolver and hunting down the gangsters who killed his parishioners. In the vein of recent alternative horror/comedies like "Machete" and "Hobo with a Shotgun", HOLY HELL is a modern take on 60's and 70's B-Movie and Exploitation film tropes.
