Based in Mumbai, India

Works with Co-Director Judhajit Bagchi.
Together we work under the name Yaanus Films.

Judhajit Bagchi and Ranadeep Bhattacharyya are internationally acclaimed filmmakers and fine-art photographers with over 10+ years of experience in storytelling across short films, advertising, brand films and music videos. Passionate about creating clutter breaking visuals and narratives, their style ranges from classical to experimental. They have made their mission to tell evocative stories about intricate human relationships from India for the global audience.

Their feature film script 'Kal Baisakhi', was selected at NFDC Co-Production Market as a part of 20 prestigious film projects from across the globe in 2022 at Film Bazaar Goa where they have secured global distribution of the film with the renowned German Production House Rapid Eye Movies. In 2021, their company Yaanus Films became the first and only Indian Film Production House to be felicitated by the Institute of Experimental Arts Europe for continuously pushing the boundary of cinematic storytelling through visual explorations.

Their experimental Short Film 'Children of the Soil' narrated through clay sculptures on farmer suicides (with poetry penned by Gulzar) premiered at the Interfilm Berlin and won international awards along with National Award in 2020. With over 70+ national and global accolades across film and photography, Judhajit and Ranadeep have also been the only Indian filmmakers to chair as Jury for London Fashion Film Festival since 2019. They are the first Indian filmmakers to win Cannes Dolphin for their brand and ad films consecutively in 2015 and 2016, along with a hattrick Gold Award win at the International Business Awards (2015,16,17). Their pioneering short film 'Amen' on gender and sexuality won the Best Film Award at the Mumbai International Queer Film Festival and travelled all over the world and is part of the curriculum at the Kinsey Institute of Gender Studies.
