An unexpectedly precocious south seas Pacific islander of exceptional mathematics ability begins a new life as an astronomer in the New Mexican desert town where his fate finds him using his innate skills of navigating with the aid of the stars above to guide a small band of equally culturally displaced characters to eventual safety during an unexpected drama caused by an international crisis.

SYNOPSIS:

The tiny town of Evans Gap, New Mexico plays host to a rag tag collection of outsiders who each in their way have traveled here to be sheltered from the inequities of a slowly collapsing economy. A major crisis fostered by an international medical crisis sees the tiny town becoming the focus for international deep state government intervention where a significant number of the towns people are kidnapped for use in biological experimentation. Ulmer Kay, an astronomer working at a nearby research center is cast as the only hope of escape for the group to wend their way over the desert and avoid capture through using his extraordinary skills learned by way of his Pacific heritage to avoid interception. Their journey ultimately exposing the truth of a long history of mistreatment and trafficking of innocents for experimentation.
