About David

My name is David Caprita, aka Dave Caprita on the radio at 947 The Wave in Los Angeles. I'm an actor as well as a writer. I moved to LA from Miami in 1995, where I was on the air with a morning show while I pursued an acting career. For someone who started acting in his late thirties, I've been pretty fortunate to began my career booking several TV shows and in film and on the stage. You can go to IMDB to see the full resume.
I guess my first forays into writing were for radio shows, when I wrote many comedy sketches and serial shows that played for years. Upon arriving in LA, I continued writing comedy for the stage. I'm currently an actor/writer at Theater Unleashed in North Hollywood. I have several one acts, a couple TV pilots under my belt and a ton of ideas and scripts/treatments on my hard disk that I'm trying to complete. I am currently in WRITER HELL trying to get the plethora of ideas and projects finished. I am currently working with a great writing partner who has been generous enough to help me with my ideas; "Hell to the Chief", a story about a serial killer who becomes president, "All Talk", a comedy about the talk radio biz - a world in which I was a part of for a decade - "Black Seminole", a story of a runaway slave who joins Native Americans in Florida during the Jackson era, fighting to keep his freedom (I know what you're thinking, but this idea was conceived years before "Django", "12 Years a Slave", etc. etc. Think Avatar meets Dances With Wolves), "Ham", a story about a ham radio geek in a world of cell phones and internet media, "Hear the Kords", a road adventure about a high school drop out who joins his local rock band during the civil rights era in the Deep South. I could go on. But I won't.

Unique traits: My voice. I can fly an airplane. General license amateur radio operator. I'm a great driver.
