Robert Ryan Kline is the embodiment of a Gypsy Actor. As a character actor he specializes in portraying eccentric or unusual people. As a Gypsy Actor he travels far and wide and lives the life of the eccentric and unusual on a quest to conquer his next role.
Robert Ryan Kline, who goes by Ryan, was born and raised in Philadelphia. He continues to earn his keep living in Los Angeles. His training involves numerous schools and private coaching, most remarkably at Beverly Hills Playhouse and currently at Stan Kirsch Studios. Ryan embraces the idea of “making it”, inspired by a journey of unexpected turns and sacrifices; a life lived before.
For over 10 years he was a Stage Manager for Goldenvoice, where he gladly accepted responsibility to run the main stage at Coachella, Stage Coach, Club Nokia, The El Rey Theatre, The Fonda Theater, FYF Fest and many more. In addition to navigating the globe with numerous recognizable bands he’s also survived in the restaurant and bar scene. Set in motion as a carpenter, musician, driver, writer, laborer, gardener and organic farmer, he refused to settle in the blue collar world from which he came. These experiences give him a unique edge that is unmatched by most actors.
Today, Robert Ryan Kline is an award winning actor whose performances have premiered at Cannes Film Festival in France and can be seen throughout Europe, the UK, Australia and the Americas.
Ryan’s range is from the off-beat and quirky to the mysterious yet often serious. His compelling choices are why directors, writers and casting directors call upon him to develop difficult roles and employ his vast life experiences. He gives a voice to the speechless, an image to the invisible and humbly walks among the strange & unlikely. No role is too big or too small, no man or woman is too normal or too absurd. In his vision of bringing truth and life to a character, his imagination is the playground in which all individuals can feel as though they belong, no one is left behind or picked last.
He looks forward to some day working with the Coen Brothers and being a key player in the genre of Dark Comedy. He is a rare blend of a life fully lived and a life yet to be discovered.
