About Tim

Born and raised in England Tim began working in the movie and TV industry in the mid 1980s after following a career in antiques and marketing. His first big consulting job was for the BBC working as Historical Technical advisor to costume designer Alun Hughes (The Avengers) on the series Soldiers and later on the Jonathan Miller production of Cosi Fan Tuti. He worked for many years as a consultant to Berman's and Nathan's in London and through them secured his first major motion picture Tai-Pan for Raffaella DeLaurentis teaching a detachment of the British army the drill of 1839 and the use of the musket. In 1988 he emigrated to the USA and is now resident in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He has worked on productions that cover a time frame from ancient Egypt to the present day but is most at hope with the period 1400 to 1900. He can consult on costume and plan ceremonial and battle deployments and teach extras and stunts the correct military drill of any period they are working in. He work has been seen in Last of the Mohicans, Interview with the Vampire, Foot Soldiers, First Invasion, Margaret Bourke-White, Napoleon and Wellington, Jefferson Davis an American President and most recently in Roots for A&E TV, and the movie Free State of Jones.

Unique traits: Specializing in military technical advice and procedure I plan period battles and ceremonial, read scripts for historical accuracy and plan large scale live events. over 30 years in the business has given us a unique knowledge of how to get the very best production values out of any shot.
